Jui-Pin Chang was born in Taiwan, where she took an Art degree at the Taipei University of Art (one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan), mastering traditional Chinese calligraphy (which she actually started practicing from the age of six), brush drawing, and many western techniques.
Her paintings explore a wide variety of subjects and delve deep inside herself. "I surprised myself with the profusion of images which begun to tumble out of my imagination, and the rapid development I made in trying to illustrate these ideas." Sketches were transformed into increasingly vibrant and provocative paintings full of colour and imagination.

Her most recent work blends a sense of menace with a quirky humour, men (with buckets over their heads) dancing and agitating, maybe at our expense, in awe, having fun, or as if something illusive, enigmatic or ambiguous, intangible or unrecognised, is going on.
