Paintings by Sheila Camamile, Jane Gibbs and Joyce Webb
Main Gallery
Colourful and vibrant works by these three talented artists.
Sheila Camamile has studied and painted in Letchworth for approximately 15 years. (Left: Lighthouse 1 by Sheila Camamile)
During that time she has also studied at The Slade Summer School, The Princes Drawing School and the University of Hertfordshire.

She works in a wide range of media but primarily in oil, collage and various printmaking techniques.
Her work covers a wide range of subjects and relies heavily on imagination and memory rather than representation.

She says: "I hope my work expresses the energy and interest that I feel about various ideas. These pictures are purely products of my own creative thoughts and are therefore very personal statements."
Jane Gibbs says: "I have always liked drawing and using colour.
"The natural world has also always been a major interest. So now I paint the landscape, the sea and the sky and the effect that light has on them." (Below: Ladybower Reservoir by Jane Gibbs)
Joyce Webb says: "Always interested in painting and drawing, I did not take up art seriously until moving to Letchworth in 1986. I then attended various classes and in the early 90’s completed a four year Open College of the Arts course.
"Since then I have painted in several
media and covered many subjects. At present I enjoy painting landscapes in oil and using a palette
knife.
"Some works are more abstract than others."
