Hatfield artist Jane Willis is equally at home with painting and printmaking, though, she says, "the categories intentionally blur in some of my work, touching thereby on deception and ambiguity.

"I am distrustful of words about art, preferring the visual impact to stand on its own, always conscious of Pater’s dictum: 'All art constantly aspires towards the condition of music.' My aim is to produce visual music."
