Comments about the our exhibitions and other activities
Earth Day: July 17 2010
Dear All,
Just a quick line to thank you (and Ian Iredale specifically) for your excellent service on Saturday in Leys Square!
We were delighted to contract LAC to provide a complete package for the event, providing your fabulous new pro stage, together with PA and engineer. What’s more, at short notice, you were also able to put together the ‘creative’ programme.
The artists selected proved to be top notch. Indeed, we were particularly impressed with your headline choice, the superb Randolph Matthews.
Once again, thank you indeed for a job well done!

Parents'/carers' reviews of the Arts Award exhibition, Foyer Gallery, February 2010
The exhibition put on for the Arts Award showed a variety of styles and media, reflecting the diversity of the students. We were treated to collages, paintings, manga-style cartoons, and realism. It was obvious that the students had put thought and effort into their pieces, down to the placement and manner in which the work was displayed.
It was all professionally laid out with an explanatory display about the Arts Award to inform visitors what the students were doing, and how they set about working in the class. There was even a visitor’s book for comments (and we were pleased to note the lovely things people said about our daughter’s drawings!).
For our daughter, art is not a hobby or a simple pleasure to pass her time; it is all. She lives and breathes her art from the moment she wakes up until the time she goes to bed. Being home educated allows her the freedom to indulge this passion, and we do our best to supply her with all she needs to explore and learn new disciplines. Her involvement in the Arts Award programme is one such example, but the work she does for this is only a small fraction of what she actually turns out.
We attended the exhibition with enormous pride, impressed that years of dedication had brought us to a point where we were viewing her work on a gallery wall. We’d like to think this is only the first small step and that the future will continue to bring us many such moments of standing by in awe and admiration.

Hi Vanessa, just thought I would let you know how much Georgina has enjoyed the course and how lovely it was for us to be able to see not only her work but the other children's work too, it seemed very special for all of us seeing the display hanging in a gallery that also displayed experienced and qualified artists work. Many thanks and good luck with all the children's markings.

‘Thank you for putting on such an interesting and varied display of artwork in the Foyer Gallery. The range of work and materials and ideas were fascinating – all the different themes coupled with the variety of methods used to express them were great and rather inspiring – making me look more closely and think more deeply. I was particularly impressed with some of the drawing and printing type work. An impressive exhibition. Thank you!’
Barbara Lohoar
It was lovely to see the broad spectrum of talent the students had and the way in those very few weeks it was exploited and created. My daughter certainly enjoyed the experience and was totally motivated to attend each lesson.

The Arts Award exhibition is both exciting and diverse. The students' work was well displayed and interesting in nature. We had many questions about it during the course of the exhibition from the general public.
