Are you at secondary school in Letchworth? Do you have an interest in the arts? Then why not become one of our Arts Ambassadors?
We want to develop what we offer for young people. To do this, we need young people to work with us at the Arts Centre and through local schools.
This is a great way for you to help improve facilities and activities in Letchworth. And it could look good on your cv.
A potential Arts Ambassador should:
Be in year 12 in an LGC secondary school
Be potentially interested in a career in the arts
Be committed to the development of the arts for young people
Have adequate time to support the role
Be creative, a good communicator and able to use initiative to solve problems
Have sound IT knowledge and understanding of MS Office
The role will include:
Working with Arts Centre trustees advising on activities for young people at the Arts Centre
Leading the planning and organising of events for young people at the Arts Centre
Promoting opportunities at the Arts Centre for young people
Working with our trustees to develop ideas to generate external funding

Invitations for Ambassadors and guests to preview events in the main exhibition gallery
Opportunities to meet professional artists and performers

Assisting with setting up exhibitions
Gaining an understanding of how to access arts based funding
Having a positive experience to Include on UCAS forms and promoting the role at college or university interviews
The Arts Ambassadors will be mentored by an LAC representative and will be requested to attend six meetings a year. A mentor will have undergone a full enhanced CRB check and will meet Ambassadors in line with school procedures.
