Andrew Strange: oil on canvas

Andrew Strange seeks to capture a child’s simplicity and freshness of vision, as in those moments when we glimpse the world once more as if for the first time, uncluttered by concepts and symbols.

An exciting exhibition by this popular jeweller, painter and sculptor.

A Letchworth Festival event

Enjoy a wave of nostalgia as you browse pictures and see some of the varied products manufactured in our Garden City in this superb display in our main gallery.

Acrylics and watercolours

A bright and vibrant exhibition of works in watercolour and acrylic by this local artist.

Bold, colourful, contemporary flowers on canvas with paint and mixed media, by local artist Elaine Graham.

The Six of Us

Edward Lear’s famous poem is the inspiration behind a new show of installations, paintings, photographs, prints and 3D works by a group of female artists exhibiting as ‘The Six of Us’.

The group, all recent mature graduates in Fine Art from the University of Hertfordshire, have exhibited together before, but this is the first time they have combined using a collaborative theme.

Herts Visual Arts Forum Sculptors Group

An array of beautiful sculpture filled our main gallery from March 16 to 27 with a dazzling exhibition of works in metal, wood, clay and stone by 10 members of the Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum’s Sculpture Group.

Paintings by Hitchin-based Sarah Booth filled the Café Gallery during March 2009. She graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1990 with a BA Hons. degree in Fine Art.

Local schools take over the galleries for the month of February, with exhibitions from primary level to the amazing work of the sixth forms from Fearnhill and the Highfield Schools.

Jui-Pin Chang

Jui-Pin Chang's most recent work blends a sense of menace with a quirky humour, men (with buckets over their heads) dancing and agitating, maybe at our expense, in awe, having fun, or as if something illusive, enigmatic or ambiguous, intangible or unrecognised, is going on.
