Denise Allen

 Bramfield painter Denise Allen once sold a painting of waves crashing on to the shore because the buyer felt it made her “want to take her shoes and socks off”.

Paintings by Lupe Cunha

In the Main Gallery is the culmination of a year of Lupe Cunha’s latest work, in which she develops  a large number of new canvases, big and small,  exploring her continuing research into using  colour to abstract the figurative into an emotional response that speaks to her viewers. Simultaneously, some of her landscape painting students exhibit in the Foyer Gallery. Lupe will also be holding painting workshops during the run of the exhibition (see details below).

Hatfield artist Jane Willis is equally at home with painting and printmaking, though, she says, "the categories intentionally blur in some of my work, touching thereby on deception and ambiguity.

 Paintings in watercolour, oil and acrylic, with abstract and stylised landscapes worked up from sketches drawn and painted in the local Hertfordshire countryside.

 Kate Burgess uses paint and print to create pictures that are colourful and humorous, and has also been painting murals in children´s rooms.
